Consulting
Besides the design of retaining structures and foundations of buildings ("conventional" geotechnics),
I have been involved, as part of a group of Consultants in many significant technical works, dealing with the
following areas of Geotechnical Engineering:
- Seismic microzonation studies, with emphasis on the effects of soil and topography conditions and the use of GIS
- Design of buried pipelines, against seismic motion, fault rupture and explosions
- Design of slopes, embankments and dams, in adverse soil conditions and under seismic motion
- Design against liquefaction of foundations, slopes, embankments and buried pipelines
- Geophysical testing, with emphasis on the execution and evaluation of Crosshole & Downhole measurements
